The Stillwater River flows for eighty miles from its origin at the small Russky Creek down to its end at the confluence of the Flathead River just south of Kalispell. The river flows through pretty country, primarily timber on the upper half of the river and a mix of timber, fields and agricultural land on the lower half. For most of it's journey, the river flows fairly slowly, offering great opportunities for fly fishing and canoeing.
An interesting tibit of information is that the streets within the Silverbrook Community were, in fact, named as a reflection of the watershed system that flows in and out of – the Stillwater River. The flow of the Stillwater River constitutes mountain drain-off, river waters, streams, and prairie snow melt. As such, the names of streets within Silverbrook include Prairie Drive, SwiftCurrent Ave, etc.
